Anne Lister, or ‘Gentleman Jack’ is a striking historical figure who lived as she desired and blazed her own trail throughout the 19th Century. Her life has inspired biographies, novels and a hit BBC/HBO series, but we will be the first to tell her story through ballet.
Following its triumphant world premiere in Leeds on March 7, we had the pleasure of interviewing Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Choreographer of Gentleman Jack, the production inspired by the 5-million-word diaries of Anne Lister, and Federico Bonelli, Artistic Director of Northern Ballet.
